This impressive red rock gorge is just a short walk from Big Bend Falls. After following an animal trail that climbs some 60 feet above the Cisco and through a grove of immature white pines, the terrain on the south side of the river drops back to the shoreline. The Red Cliffs appear with surprising suddenness around the next curve of the river, jutting approximately 30 feet straight up. A distinct ledge emerges from the bottom of the cliff and protrudes just below the water's surface. Several mature white pines and black spruce grow out of the rock, creating one of the most unique and beautiful sections of the Cisco.
