Lakes: Lake Gogebic
Located approximately 7 miles due west of CLT, Lake Gogebic offers a variety of recreational acitivities. At 13,380 acres, Lake Gogebic is Michigan's largest inland lakes and one of the largest in the Midwest. As a result, opportunities for fishing and boating abound.
The northern section of Lake Gogebic is in the eastern time zone in Ontonagan County; the southern section is in the central time zone in Gogebic County. Fish varieties include walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, jumbo perch and some whitefish.
A number of resorts and restaurants dot the shores of Lake Gogebic. Our favorite is Lake Gogebic Lodge, located on the western shore about halfway up the lake.
