FLORA

CURRENT

The flora of CLT is varied and beautiful, ranging from majestic Hemlocks to club moss gathered on a rock left behind in glacial drift. With a blend of native flora and aggressive non-natives, CLT represents a classic example of disturbed natural habitat beginning to recover with challenges.

FUTURE

CLT plans to do all it can to help restore the forest floor to its pre-logging state. Native plantings and eradication of non-natives such as ribes and dandelions will help to foster a return to a northern hardwood forest. By nurturing coniferous and deciduous native trees to compete with maples, which tend to dominate a logged area, the tree management division hopes to restore diversity to the surrounding forest.
