THE CABIN

In 2005, the Cisco Land Trust designed a cabin that would have a Northwoods feel while blending in with the surrounding forest. The cabin features propane-powered lights, refrigerator and stove for "off-the-grid" living and a propane-fired generator to allow for full power as needed.

Design Ideas came as far away as Yosemite and as close as Bessemer. The screened-in porch was designed after Boot Lake and the interior closely mirrors the cabins we rented just outside Yosemite in 2004.

We used as much durable material as possible, including concrete board and Geo-Tek boards for the porch. The cabin sometimes waits long months for a human touch, yet somehow has remained reliably the same for nearly two decades. In the end, the cabin nicknamed "Punch" has proudly served CLT well.
